Fostering Hope is a ministry of Glen Hope Baptist Church with the mission of helping to fill the urgent material needs of foster placements, and offering the hope & love of Christ to foster families and children in North Carolina.
4 Ways to Help
❋ Donate Items
Bring a gift of new or gently used items to help stock the free closet for foster families.
❋ Donate Funds
Donate money through Glen Hope and designate it for Fostering Hope (this will be listed on your contribution statement).
❋ Donate Gift Cards
Donate gift cards and drop off at Glen Hope. and designate it for Fostering Hope. Gift cards can be used to purchase items for the supply closet or given directly to a family in need.
❋ Amazon Wish List Purchases
Go to the Fostering Hope Facebook page and follow the link to order from our Amazon Wish List. Have the gift delivered to Glen Hope which houses the foster closet (911 North Ave. Burlington NC, 27217)
Fostering Hope will show our support for children in foster care through two main initiatives/events:

Supply Hope
A backpack drive in the summer during which we provide children in foster/kinship care with brand new backpacks, fully loaded with school supplies to help them have a successful start to their school year.
Next Backpack Drive: July 29th at 6pm
Celebration of Hope
Our first Celebration of Hope took place in December this past year. It was a beautiful, joyful event in which we invited foster/kinship/adoptive families to our church for dinner, dessert, childcare, gifts, drawings, music, and messages of hope.
We will have another one in 2026! More details to come.
Giving & Donation Opportunities for 2026
From March through November, you can contribute items for these initiatives each month.
Throughout the year, we will also accept and greatly appreciate donations of holiday gift bags, large tote bags for children/caregivers to "shop" in the foster closet, duffel bags, suitcases, brand new backpacks, diapers and wipes, and gift cards to Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc., and any monetary amounts that help cover food and table settings for Celebration of Hope.
Also, please think about and consider helping us connect with any local business owners you know who may be willing to donate a service or gift certificate to Celebration of Hope--(retail store, restaurant, photography business, travel agency, etc. )

Lunch boxes/lunch bags (gender neutral, pre K - High School

Binders, composition or spiral notebooks with lined paper and loose leaf lined paper

Pencils, pens, erasers and small pencil sharpeners.

Water bottles.

Devotionals for kids & teens. (See Fostering Hope's Amazon wish list for ideas or ask Jenna).

Gift cards ($25 or higher) to places like local grocery stores, Walmart, Amazon, fast food restaurants, Target, etc. *each family attending Celebration of Hope will receive a gift card and some can be used for drawings.*

Throw blankets, candles and other gifts for the whole family that will offer rest and coziness.

Shelf stable snack packs such as crackers, nuts, meat sticks, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. to add to the family gift packages.

Board or card games or puzzles (new in package please) that can be played by a family with members of various ages.
